EMS Instructor is designed to meet the needs of entry-level emergency services instructors by meeting or exceeding the minimum requirements as stated in the “National EMS Educational Standards/Instructional Guidelines, “EMS Education Agenda for the Future,” and the “2002 DOT National Highway Traffic Safety Administration Curriculum” and the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) 1041, Standard for Fire Service Instructor Professional Qualifications.

Upon completion of this course the student will be eligible to submit for certification by the Texas Department of State Health Services as an EMS Instructor and by the Texas State Firefighters’ and Fire Marshall’s’ Association (SFFMA) as a Fire Instructor I.

Skills Day Time: 0800 – 1700, January 8th, 2022

Course maximum is 30 students. All others will be placed on a waiting list.

Students will need a laptop or tablet for this course.

**Once registered for this course, refunds or the cancellation of payments/debt due to TPSTA will only be issued if registrations are cancelled with at least 48 hours advanced notice before first day of class, or if the Agency Chief/Head contacts the Director & Chief of Texas Public Service Training Academy before the start of the first day of training and verifies an emergency circumstance occurred that requires the registrant to drop from the course. The TPSTA EMS Program Director & Fire Chief has sole discretion to determine what constitutes an emergency in these cases.
