Fire Officer I is designed to meet the needs of entry-level fire and emergency service instructors by meeting or exceeding the job performance requirements in National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) 921: Guide for Fire and Explosion Investigations (NFPA) 1021: Standard for Fire Officer Professional Qualifications.
Upon completion of this course the student will be eligible to submit for certification by the Texas State Firefighters’ and Fire Marhsalls’ Association (SFFMA) as a Fire Officer I.
This course is 35 hours in length and will be completed over the course of 5 days.
Schedule: January 7-9, 15-16 (5 days total)
Friday: 1800 – 2100
Sat & Sun: 0800 – 1700
Location: Bastrop, TX
Course maximum is 30 students. All others will be placed on a waiting list.
All materials provided with registration.
Students will need a laptop or tablet for this course.
*If using HB 2604 or Department funds, select option for invoice, not paypal. Payment instructions will be emailed to registrant’s email address. Departments may also bring a check to the first day of class.
**Once registered for this course, refunds will only be issued if registrations are cancelled with at least 48 hours advanced notice before first day of class, or if the Agency Chief/Head contacts the Director & Chief of Texas Public Service Training Academy before the start of the first day of training and verifies an emergency circumstance occurred that requires the registrant to drop from the course
