Course Dates: Feb 21st, 22nd and 23rd, 2025

This course meets the requirements for the Texas Private Security Board, as governed by the Texas Department of Public Safety. The student will learn level III security officer and level IV PPO duties and responsibilities in a classroom, field, and hands-on training environment. The student must bring 50 rounds of 9 mm ammunition and 2 Magazines, or their own personal side arm in a caliber that is no smaller than a 9 mm with 50 rounds of ammunition and 2 Magazines. A loaner Firearms (9mm) are available upon request. 

Upon successful completion of this program, the student will be able to submit for licensure by the TX Private Security Board though the TX Department of Public Safety as a Level III Commissioned Security Officer and Level IV Personal Protection Officer. They will also be awarded certification in Baton, OC Spray, Shotgun, and CPR (a $200 value) at NO ADDITIONAL CHARGE!!!

This course will be taught in one weekend, February 21st, 22nd, and 23rd. Students must attend ALL 3 DAYS to complete the course. DPS PSB Mandates a Minimum of 45 Hours for Commissioned Security and 15 hours for PPO.  Commissioned Security Officer Students must bring a copy of their online training completion (35 hours).

Day 1: 0800-1830 – Level 3 (10 hours)

Day 2: 0800-1630 – Level 4 (8 Hours)

Day 3: 0800-1630 – Level 4 (8 Hours)

**Once registered for this course, refunds will only be issued if registrations are canceled with at least 14 days advanced notice before the first day of class, or if written documentation of a death or serious illness/injury is provided, or if the Agency Chief/Head contacts the Director & Chief of Texas Public Safety Training Academy before the start of the first day of training and verifies an emergency circumstance occurred that requires the registrant to drop from the course.
